Violence During Voting in Patiala, BJP Candidate Self-Immolates, Akali Leader Climbs Tank

Punjab, December 21:

Violence and chaos have erupted in several areas during the municipal corporation and municipal council elections in Punjab. In Ward 40 of Patiala, a stone-pelting incident occurred between BJP candidate Anuj Khosla and AAP workers. Khosla accused AAP workers of attacking him and throwing stones. Police and Border Security Force (BSF) were deployed to control the situation.

In addition, BJP candidate Anuj Khosla, expressing frustration with the opposing party, doused himself in petrol, creating a sensation in the area. Meanwhile, an Akali Dal leader climbed a water tank, citing concerns over his safety. These incidents have further escalated tensions in the electoral environment.

Election officials have stated that the voting process is continuing, and tight security measures have been implemented to ensure peaceful voting.
