Following the Congress’s defeat in Gidderbaha, a fresh verbal clash erupted between Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu and Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Ravneet Bittu taunted Warring, saying, “The people of Gidderbaha have completely wiped out Raja Warring. My revenge is complete. I came to Gidderbaha specifically to defeat him.”
Bittu further mocked Warring, referring to a statement Warring made during the campaign, where he said, “My wife leaves for election campaigning at 6 a.m., and I don’t even get two proper meals. I might have to hire someone to cook.” Bittu quipped, “The people of Gidderbaha have ensured Raja’s queen is defeated, solving his food issues. He won’t need to hire help now.”
On the other hand, Raja Warring lashed out at Bittu during a public meeting in Muktsar, accusing him of celebrating the victory of the AAP while ignoring the BJP’s defeat. “Bittu should be reflecting on the BJP’s loss, as their candidate secured only 12,000 votes. But instead, he is rejoicing over my defeat,” Warring said.
Warring questioned Bittu’s role, saying, “Who is Ravneet Bittu to defeat me? The decision of the people of Gidderbaha is acceptable to me. However, Bittu’s happiness clearly shows his alignment with the AAP government. He continuously made absurd statements to ensure Manpreet Badal’s defeat.”
“Bittu is Narrow-Minded,” Says Warring
Warring accused Bittu of targeting Manpreet Badal and not him during the elections, adding, “Bittu stayed in Gidderbaha for 12 days, and the BJP got 12,000 votes. I want to ask—who influenced these votes? Was it Bittu or Manpreet Badal?”
He further criticized Bittu for making anti-farmer remarks and questioned who would take responsibility for the BJP’s defeat. Warring concluded by calling Bittu “narrow-minded,” stating, “He doesn’t think before speaking and can say anything absurd.”
