New Delhi, March 3:
The Supreme Court on Monday permitted podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia to continue broadcasting The Ranveer Show, provided he adheres to guidelines ensuring decency in his content.
Allahbadia had petitioned the court to lift the restriction preventing him from airing his podcast until further notice. He argued that the show serves as his primary source of income.
However, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta opposed the request, citing concerns over Allahbadia’s alleged inappropriate and offensive remarks on India’s Got Latent. Mehta remarked, “Let him remain silent for some time.”
While allowing him to resume the podcast, the court imposed a restriction preventing Allahbadia from discussing the ongoing case in any of his episodes. Additionally, his request to travel abroad was denied, with the court stating that such permission could be considered only after he cooperates with the investigation.
