In connection with threats made to film actor Salman Khan and NCP leader Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique, Mumbai Police arrested a 20-year-old youth from Sector 92, Noida, on Tuesday morning. The accused, identified as Mohammad Tayyab from Bareilly, was taken by Mumbai Police on transit remand. DCP Noida, Rambadan Singh, confirmed the arrest.
Accused Living with Uncle in Delhi
The accused had been living with his uncle in Kardam Puri, Jyoti Puri, Delhi, where he worked as a carpenter. At the time of his arrest, he was working as a painter at a house in Sector 92. Moments before the arrest, Mumbai Police informed Noida Police, and together, they conducted the joint operation that led to the arrest.
Threatening Message Sent to Mumbai Police Control Room
The accused reportedly sent a text message to the Mumbai Police control room’s mobile number, saying, “Salman Khan will not be spared; something bad will happen soon.” Upon tracking his location through surveillance, Mumbai Police found him in Noida.
Investigating the Motive
Police are looking into possible accomplices of the accused and investigating the reasons behind the threat. They are also exploring any connections to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, as there are reports suggesting ties to a Punjab-based gang.
Noida Connections with Painter Following Case of Praise for Dawood
A recent incident involved another individual who praised gangster Dawood Ibrahim on social media, for which Noida’s Phase I Police registered a case and swiftly arrested the suspect. In that case, the individual had posted about killing Baba Siddique, praising Dawood Ibrahim.

October 12 Killing of Baba Siddique
The threat to Salman Khan came just weeks after the alleged murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique by members of the Bishnoi gang in Mumbai. A 20-year-old suspect was arrested in Noida following the threat made on October 25. The NCP MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office filed a complaint about the threat. On October 12, Baba Siddique was shot outside his office during Dussehra celebrations. Fifteen people have been arrested in connection with his murder, with a Bishnoi gang member claiming responsibility due to Siddique’s close ties to Salman Khan.
