Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About Knife Attack: Why Son Taimur Accompanied Him to the Hospital

Sharing is caring!

Mumbai, February 10:

Saif Ali Khan recently shared details about the terrifying knife attack at his home and the unexpected presence of his eight-year-old son, Taimur, during his hospital visit. The actor explained that while dealing with the trauma of the attack, he found solace in his son’s company.

A Night of Chaos and Fear

During the early hours of January 16, an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, leading to a violent confrontation. The assailant, armed with sharp weapons, attacked the actor multiple times. Despite sustaining injuries, Saif managed to resist the attack, but a portion of the knife remained lodged in his back.

With no immediate help available, he had to be rushed to the hospital in an autorickshaw. His son, Taimur, insisted on accompanying him, offering support throughout the ordeal.

Saif’s Emergency Surgery and Close Call

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors performed a six-hour emergency surgery to treat his injuries. The medical team revealed that the knife had penetrated dangerously close to his spinal cord, narrowly avoiding permanent damage. Any further impact could have resulted in paralysis.

How the Attack Unfolded

The horrifying incident began when a household staff member alerted the family about an intruder inside their home. The attacker was discovered in the children’s room, holding weapons. Saif immediately reacted and engaged in a struggle with the intruder, sustaining multiple stab wounds in the process.

During the chaos, Kareena Kapoor Khan took their younger son, Jeh, to safety. Meanwhile, another staff member intervened, pulling the attacker away from Saif, allowing him to escape and seek medical help.

Family’s Reaction and Aftermath

Following the attack, Kareena frantically tried to arrange assistance. Saif reassured his family that he was stable despite his injuries. His elder children, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan, were deeply affected by the incident.

Saif also addressed the concerns regarding security at his residence. He clarified that he never preferred personal security and believed that the attack was not a targeted one. He maintained confidence in Mumbai’s safety, stating that the incident was likely a result of the intruder’s random entry rather than a planned attack.

Police Investigation and Arrest of the Intruder

The police quickly identified and arrested the suspect, a Bangladeshi national named Shariful Fakir, also known as Vijay Das. Authorities are investigating how he gained access to the high-rise apartment, with initial reports suggesting he climbed a drainpipe and entered through a gap.

Despite the harrowing experience, Saif is now recovering. Though still experiencing pain, he remains optimistic about a full recovery. The incident has left his family shaken, but they are grateful for his survival and the support they received during this difficult time.
