Social media platforms were set ablaze on Wednesday with rumors swirling around the purported demise of Goldy Brar, the prime accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, in a shooting incident in the US. Initial reports claimed that Brar was shot dead in Fresno, California, sparking a frenzy of speculation and concern.
However, the Fresno Police Department swiftly moved to dispel these rumors, clarifying that the shooting incident in Fresno was unrelated to the high-profile case involving Brar and the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Contrary to the circulating misinformation, the victim of the Fresno shooting was identified as 37-year-old Xavier Gladney, as reported by local newspaper Fresno Bee.
The shooting incident occurred on Tuesday evening, prompting a response from law enforcement following a ShotSpotter alert. Gladney was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Community Regional Medical Centre. Another individual, a 13-year-old, sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was also hospitalized.
Fresno Police identified the alleged shooter as 33-year-old Darren Williams, with a warrant issued for his arrest on suspicion of murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Police officials indicated that the motive behind the shooting appeared to stem from a gang-related interpersonal dispute.
Meanwhile, Goldy Brar’s legal troubles have escalated, with reports emerging that he has been added to Canada’s list of the top 25 most wanted criminals. Brar faces a litany of charges including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons trafficking.
Amidst the swirl of speculation and misinformation, the Fresno Police Department emphasized their commitment to debunking false connections between unrelated incidents and urged the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information.
