Chandigarh, Nov 10
Punjab Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two key associates of Canada-based gangster Arsh Dalla. These criminals were involved in the murder of Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared this information on social media platform X on Sunday.
Investigations revealed that the suspects, acting on Dalla’s instructions, had also murdered Jaswant Singh Gill in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on November 7. After committing the crime, both suspects returned to Punjab, where they were apprehended near Kharar. Their arrests, according to the DGP, have prevented another potential murder in the state.
Modern Weapons Recovered from the Criminals
Two advanced weapons were recovered from the criminals. On November 8, in a major crackdown on an illegal arms trafficking network, Counter Intelligence (CI) personnel from Amritsar arrested two associates of Portugal-based gangster Manpreet Singh, alias Mannu Ghanshampuria, exposing their connections with major U.S.-based criminals Balwinder Singh and Prabhdeep Singh.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aditya Kapoor from Lahore Gate, Amritsar, and Ravinder Singh from Akarpura village in Gurdaspur. Police teams seized four weapons from them, including a modern 9mm Glock pistol, two foreign-made .30 bore pistols, a .32 bore pistol, along with five magazines and 14 cartridges.
Police Also Seize Motorbike Used by the Accused
DGP Yadav stated that in an intelligence operation, CI Amritsar teams set up a special checkpoint near the livestock market on Mehta Road in Amritsar. The two individuals were arrested while riding a motorcycle, which was also seized by the police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kapoor has 12 criminal cases registered against him and was operating under the instructions of U.S.-based criminals Balwinder Singh, alias Donny Bal, and Prabhdeep Singh. Both are close associates of Mannu Ghanshampuria, the brother of gangster Gopi Ghanshampuria.
Further Investigations Underway
DGP Yadav added that these criminals belong to a syndicate that is a rival of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria organized crime syndicate. Investigations further revealed that the arrested individuals received a consignment of weapons from Donny Bal and Mannu Ghanshampuria and were conspiring to commit heinous crimes in Punjab. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional connections. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) police station in Amritsar.
