Chandigarh, December 5:
Punjab government has declared December 6 a public holiday in the state to observe Guru Tegh Bahadur Shaheedi Divas. On this day, schools, colleges, government offices, boards, corporations, and other public institutions will remain closed.
Similarly, Chandigarh Administration has also issued a notification declaring a holiday for government offices, corporations, boards, and educational institutions on December 6 in honor of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom.
Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, is remembered for his sacrifice, courage, and dedication to his faith. His martyrdom is observed annually as Shaheedi Divas.
