In a move signaling their electoral strategy in Punjab, the Congress party has revealed four additional candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, adding to the political fervor in the state. The eagerly anticipated candidate for Ferozepur is still under wraps, heightening the intrigue surrounding the constituency.
The party’s previous announcement introduced eight candidates, setting the stage for what promises to be a closely watched electoral battle. Among the notable picks is Congress state chief Raja Warring, who will contest from Ludhiana against BJP’s Ravneet Bittu, the incumbent MP who recently crossed party lines to join the BJP.
Adding to the roster, Dera Baba Nanak MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa has been named as the candidate from Gurdaspur, while Zira MLA Kulbir Zira will represent Khadoor Sahib. Former cabinet minister Vijay Inder Singla, a seasoned politician and former MP from Sangrur, will contest from Anandpur Sahib, further diversifying the party’s representation across Punjab’s constituencies.
