PPSC Announces Notification for Punjab Civil Services Exams 2025

Punjab, January 3:

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has officially released the notification for the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2025 (PSCSCCE-2025), announcing 322 vacancies across various departments.

The last PCS examination in Punjab took place in 2020. According to the notification issued on January 2, the preliminary examination for PCS 2025 is tentatively set for April.

The PSCSCCE-2025 aims to recruit officers for multiple posts, including roles in the Punjab Civil Service (executive branch), deputy superintendent of police, tehsildar, food and civil supply officer, block development and panchayat officer, assistant registrar of cooperative societies, labour-cum-conciliation officer, employment generation, skill development and training officer, excise and taxation officer, and deputy superintendent of jails (Grade-II)/district probation officer.

Post-wise Vacancy Details:

  • Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch): 48 posts
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police: 17 posts
  • Tehsildar: 27 posts
  • Excise and Taxation Officer: 121 posts
  • Food and Civil Supply Officer: 13 posts
  • Block Development and Panchayat Officer: 49 posts
  • Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies: 21 posts
  • Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer: 3 posts
  • Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Officer: 12 posts
  • Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Grade-II)/District Probation Officer: 13 posts

Eligibility Criteria:

The exam follows the guidelines laid out in the Punjab State Civil Services (Appointment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 2009, and Punjab Civil Services (Executive Branch) Rules, 1976, along with other government-issued instructions.

Age Limit:

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not older than 37 years as of January 1, 2025.

Relaxations:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC) of Punjab: Upper age limit extended to 42 years (excluding Punjab Police and Punjab Prisons Services).
  • Punjab government employees and central/state government staff: Upper age limit relaxed to 45 years (excluding Punjab Police Service).
  • Ex-servicemen: Can deduct their service period in the Armed Forces from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed limit by more than three years, they remain eligible.
  • Widows, divorced women, and certain other women categories: Upper age limit extended to 42 years (excluding Punjab Police and Prisons Services).
  • Physically Handicapped Persons from Punjab: Upper age limit extended to 47 years (excluding Punjab Police and Prisons Services).

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying, as detailed in the official notification. The examination serves as a gateway to prestigious administrative positions within the Punjab government.
