A mysterious blast was reported near the CRPF School in Sector 14, Rohini, Delhi, early on Sunday morning. While the explosion caused damage to nearby structures, including a portion of the school wall, nearby shops, and a car, no casualties were reported. The incident triggered a swift response from the authorities, with fire engines, a bomb squad, and a forensic team being dispatched to the scene.
The blast was reported through a PCR call around 7:47 AM, and the caller described hearing a loud noise. Upon arrival, police found the damaged school wall and noted a foul smell at the site. Additionally, the windows of a nearby shop and a car parked close by were shattered due to the impact.
Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion. Specialized teams, including the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the bomb disposal squad, are currently collecting evidence. While initial reports suggest that the blast may have been caused by firecrackers, the police are examining the matter from all possible angles. CCTV footage from the vicinity is also being reviewed to assist the investigation.
No injuries have been reported, and the police are continuing to investigate the incident.
