Lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib on the occasion of Prakash Parv of the fourth Patshah, the founder of Guru Nagari in Amritsar, Sri Guru Ramdas Ji. Devotees arrived in large numbers, took bath in the holy lake of Harimandir Sahib and listened to Ilahi Gurbani.
A large number of Sangat paid obeisance to Guru Sahib at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. On the occasion of Prakash Parv, long lines of devotees who came to pay obeisance started forming since morning. A large number of devotees from India and abroad had come with their families to pay obeisance.
SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh, SGPC General Secretary Rajinder Singh Mehta participated in the Gurmat Samagam organized at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Diwan Hall located in Sri Harimandir Sahib complex. And received the blessings of Guru Sahib.
On this occasion, beautiful lamps were lit at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Gurudwara Atal Rai Sahib. While narrating in Gurudwara Diwan Hall, famous storyteller Giani Pinderpal Singh informed the Sangat about the life of Shri Guru Ramdas Ji.
On the occasion of Prakash Parv, the students who stood first in the religious competitions organized by SGPC in schools and colleges were honored at Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib. Raag Darbar was also organized by SGPC on the night of 18th October. In this Kirtan Samagam, famous Ragi groups performed Kirtan of the holy Gurbani based on Ragas.
On this occasion, more than 150 artisans decorated Sri Harmandir Sahib with 15 tons of flowers. SGPC prepared 15 quintals of laddus and distributed them among the congregation on the occasion of Prakash Parv. At night, a beautiful lamp garland was made by lighting 1.25 lakh lamps on behalf of the devotees and SGPC employees in Shri Harmandir Sahib Parikrama. Late at night, fireworks were set off by the devotees and SGPC employees, which was the center of special attraction.
