Haryana, January 15:
The Haryana government has announced a scheme to award Rs 1,000 per month to exceptional students in government schools from grades 7 to 12. This incentive will be given to students who secure the top position in their respective classes in the annual exams. Both a male and female student from each class will be eligible for this amount. However, students must achieve a minimum of 60% marks to qualify.
The Director of Secondary Education has instructed all district education officers to submit the names of eligible students to the Directorate by January 24. The scheme, called the Education Excellence Incentive (EEE), is part of the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship initiative that was introduced in the academic year 2005-06.
