Haryana, January 22:

The Haryana government has set a target to fill over 50,000 Group C and D positions through the Common Eligibility Test (CET) this year. Chief Secretary Dr. Vivek Joshi has asked various departments to submit details of vacant posts.

So far, Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has received requests for nearly 10,000 vacant positions from different departments. Among these, 5,600 are for constables and 750 are in the health department. The highest number of recruitments are expected in the education department.

In the BJP government’s manifesto, a promise was made to fill 2 lakh vacant positions over the next five years, with a plan to fill 50,000 positions annually. The government is now taking steps to fulfill this commitment. Bhupender Singh, a member of the commission, stated that the data is being compiled as it comes in from the departments. After the CET, further demand for positions is expected, which will be advertised accordingly.

Departments to Submit Quarterly Demand Reports

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission has proposed that all departments submit their demand letters every quarter to help the government plan the recruitment process more efficiently. The schedule for upcoming exams will be prepared based on this data.

Youth Await CET Exam

Over 16 lakh youth in the state are eagerly waiting for the CET. The exam date has not yet been announced by the commission or the government, causing frustration among the candidates. The government had promised that the exam would be held in December, but with January nearly over, the delay is becoming a point of concern.
