Gold Worth ₹1.5 Crore Seized at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport

Gold worth ₹1.5 crore was seized at Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport in Amritsar. Customs officials apprehended a passenger arriving from Dubai who had concealed nearly 2 kilograms of gold in his underwear.

The gold, in the form of a paste, was hidden in four pouches. Acting on suspicion, customs officials conducted a thorough screening of passengers disembarking from a Dubai flight. During the inspection, the pouches containing 1,935.14 grams of gold paste were recovered from the passenger’s underwear.

The customs department has confiscated the gold and detained the passenger. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the law, and further investigation is underway.
