In the recent Class 10 and 12 Board exams conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), girls have once again outshone boys, according to the results announced on Monday morning.
A CISCE official reported that while an impressive 99.47% of students passed the Class 10 exams, 98.19% of students cleared the Class 12 exams.
Breaking down the numbers, it was revealed that in Class 10, the pass percentage for boys stood at 99.31%, whereas girls surpassed them with a pass percentage of 99.65%. Similarly, in Class 12, boys achieved a pass percentage of 97.53%, while girls excelled with 98.92%.
The top-performing schools abroad in Class 10 were from Indonesia, Singapore, and Dubai, all boasting a 100% pass percentage. Meanwhile, in Class 12, schools from Singapore and Dubai emerged as the best performers.
The ICSE examination (Class 10) covered 60 written subjects, including Indian languages, foreign languages, and classical languages. The exams commenced on February 21 and concluded on March 28, spanning 18 days. On the other hand, the ISC examination (Class 12) comprised 47 written subjects and ran from February 12 to April 4, conducted over 28 days.
In 2023, the pass rate for ICSE Class 10 exams was 98.94%, while ISC Class 12 results recorded an overall pass rate of 96.93%.
Approximately 1,40,000 students appeared for the ICSE Class 10 examinations this year. Notably, the Board has decided to discontinue compartment exams for Classes 10 and 12 from this session, with improvement exams scheduled for July.
