Mumbai, December 24:
A fire broke out early Tuesday morning in a 15-storey residential building in Bandra, Mumbai, according to civic authorities.
The incident occurred at the Fortune Enclave building in Bandra (West), where flames erupted in a sixth-floor apartment around 1 a.m., an official stated.
Emergency services were immediately notified, and four fire engines, along with other firefighting vehicles, were dispatched to the location. Firefighters worked for nearly two-and-a-half hours to extinguish the flames.
An 80-year-old woman, identified as Sira Paryani, was discovered unconscious on the eighth floor during the rescue operations. She was quickly transported to Bhabha Hospital for medical attention. Officials reported her condition as stable.
Additionally, nine other residents were evacuated safely using the staircase.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
