Punjab, December 25:
Farmers who have been receiving benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana are required to complete their registration in the Farmer Registry to continue receiving Rs. 2000 directly in their bank accounts. Without this registration, farmers will no longer be eligible for the scheme.
Mandatory Registration for Farmers
According to Additional District Magistrate of Mau, Satyapriya Singh, registration in the Farmer Registry is crucial to access not only the benefits of the Kisan Samman Nidhi but also other government schemes aimed at supporting farmers. The registration process will remain open until December 31, 2024, and those who complete it will be eligible for various additional schemes.
Farmers can register through the official portal upfr.agristack.gov.in or via the mobile app Farmer Registry UP, specially designed for this purpose.
Lok Suvidha Kendras for Registration
Farmers can also visit Lok Suvidha Kendras (Common Service Centers – CSCs) to complete their registration by paying the required fee. At these centers, farmers need to provide a copy of their Khatauni, Family ID number or Ration Card, Aadhaar, and a mobile number linked to their Aadhaar.
The district administration has appointed staff to assist in the registration process. These include revenue department accountants, technical assistants, and block-level agricultural managers. The Farmer Registry will collect detailed information about each farmer, such as their name, father’s name, landholding details (GATA numbers), mobile number, Aadhaar details, and eKYC information.
Updates for Ownership Changes
In cases of ownership transfer, such as inheritance or deeds, the Farmer Registry will be automatically updated. This ensures accurate records for better scheme implementation.
Current Status of Beneficiaries
The Additional District Magistrate reported that 319,245 farmers in the district are currently benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Out of these, 85% have already completed their e-KYC. The remaining farmers are urged to complete their e-KYC promptly to avoid missing out on the scheme’s next installment.
All farmers are encouraged to register in the Farmer Registry before the deadline to secure their eligibility for continued benefits under the scheme. Failure to register will result in the discontinuation of the Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits.
