Delhi, February 4:
Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Chief Minister Atishi, the AAP candidate from Kalkaji, for allegedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and obstructing public officials during duty.
A police official confirmed the development, stating, “We have registered an FIR against Kalkaji AAP candidate at the Govindpuri Police Station under various sections and further investigation is under process.”
According to the police, Atishi, along with 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles, was present at Fateh Singh Marg. Authorities instructed them to disperse in accordance with MCC regulations, but they allegedly obstructed an officer from performing his duties.
Reacting to the FIR, Atishi took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the Election Commission, accusing them of inaction against BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family members, whom she alleged were engaging in “hooliganism.” She questioned why a case was filed against her while no action was taken against them.
