Haryana, February 26:

International boxer and Arjuna Awardee Saweety Boora has filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police (SP) against her husband, Arjuna Awardee wrestler Deepak Hooda, accusing him of domestic violence and dowry harassment. She has also approached the court seeking divorce and alimony. On the other hand, Deepak Hooda has lodged a complaint with Rohtak police, alleging property fraud and death threats from Saweety and her family.

Dispute Escalated After Marriage

In her complaint, Saweety Boora stated that she married Deepak Hooda on July 7, 2022. She claimed that her parents spent ₹1 crore on the wedding, yet Deepak and his sister demanded a Fortuner car and pressured her to quit boxing.

Saweety also alleged that Deepak demanded ₹1 crore from her during the Maham Assembly elections. In October 2024, she claims that Deepak physically assaulted her and threw her out of the house. She has now filed for divorce and is demanding ₹50 lakh as compensation and ₹1.5 lakh per month in alimony.

Deepak Hooda’s Counter Allegations

Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda has accused Saweety’s family of fraudulently registering a property in Hisar’s Sector 1-4 in both their names.

He also claimed that he was promised ₹25 lakh on interest, but the amount was never given. Additionally, Deepak stated that Saweety frequently threatened him with divorce.

Police Investigation Underway

Considering the seriousness of the matter, both Hisar and Rohtak police have issued notices to both parties for clarification. The police have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the allegations.
