A shooting outside a nightclub in Queens left at least 10 people injured on Wednesday night, the New York City Police Department confirmed. The incident occurred just before 11:20 pm near the Amazura nightclub in Jamaica, a neighborhood in New York City, as reported by the New York Post on Thursday.
Authorities stated that the victims were rushed to local hospitals, including Long Island Jewish Hospital and Cohen’s Children Medical Center. Fortunately, none of the victims are in critical condition, and all are expected to recover, according to the NYPD.
Footage shared on Citizen App showed a significant police and ambulance presence outside the nightclub. Amazura, which can accommodate up to 4,000 people, is known for hosting DJs and live events.
This shooting follows a deadly attack in New Orleans that resulted in 15 fatalities. President Joe Biden previously mentioned that law enforcement is exploring any possible links between the New Orleans attack and a Tesla Cybertruck explosion that occurred outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
Both incidents involved vehicles rented from the car-sharing platform ‘Turo,’ prompting authorities to investigate any connection between the two events. “We are tracking the explosion of a Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are examining whether there is any link to the New Orleans attack,” Biden remarked.
Biden reassured the public that all necessary resources are being utilized to safeguard Americans from any potential threats.
In the Las Vegas incident, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel, killing one person and injuring seven others, just hours after the New Orleans attack, where a car drove into a crowd during New Year’s celebrations, killing at least 15 people.
The FBI previously labeled the New Orleans attack as a “terrorist act” and revealed that the driver, Shamsud Din Jabbar, had an ISIS flag and several suspected explosive devices in his vehicle. The FBI also confirmed that the vehicle was rented through Turo.
