A brutal murder of a young man by beating has surfaced in Sathiala village, Beas. The police have registered a case against five individuals. Sunny Singh, a resident of Sathiala village, reported to the police that he and his brother, Harpreet Singh, were on their way to visit their sister, Kamalpreet Kaur, in Khadur Sahib on a motorcycle.
On the way, they encountered Vishal Deep Singh, also known as Sajan Sethi, Karan Singh, Aakashdeep Singh, Kuku, and Vijay from Shero village, who were waiting with baseball bats. The accused attacked them, and Sunny managed to escape toward the fields. However, the attackers caught his brother and severely beat him until he lost consciousness. Afterward, the assailants fled the scene. Sunny took his brother to the Civil Hospital in Baba Bakala Sahib, from where he was referred to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.
Unfortunately, Harpreet succumbed to his injuries later that night. The Beas police have filed a murder case against all the accused, who are currently absconding. Raids are underway to arrest them.
According to the victim’s family, on October 4, there was a dispute between Harpreet and a cousin. During this altercation, the fathers of Vishal Deep Singh and Aakashdeep Singh, particularly Gurmej Singh, sustained serious injuries. A case was registered on October 14 regarding that incident. The family believes Harpreet’s murder was an act of revenge related to this earlier dispute.
