New Delhi, April 30
In a stern rebuke, the Supreme Court criticized the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority for its inaction in the case concerning misleading advertisements by Patanjali Ayurved Limited. Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah expressed dissatisfaction with the explanation provided by the authority, suggesting that it only acted after the court’s April 10 order.
The court emphasized the importance of honesty and adherence to the law, noting that its primary concern is whether the licensing body acted appropriately in the matter. This criticism follows the court’s earlier condemnation of the authority’s perceived deliberate negligence.
The case has been scheduled for further hearing on May 14, indicating the court’s intent to thoroughly address the issue and ensure accountability.
