Punjab, March 5:
The Punjab government has taken strict action against revenue department officials after several tehsildars and naib tehsildars went on mass leave. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally visited multiple tehsil offices to assess the situation. He had warned that if officials did not return to duty by 5 PM, suspension orders would follow.

Despite the warning, 14 tehsildars and naib tehsildars failed to resume duty and were suspended late at night.
Who Has Been Suspended?
The government has suspended five tehsildars and nine naib tehsildars, including:
- Gurmukh Singh (Tehsildar, Bagha Purana, Moga) and Bhim Sen (Naib Tehsildar, Bagha Purana)
- Amarpreet Singh (Naib Tehsildar, Samalsar)
- Ramesh Dhingra (Naib Tehsildar, Dharamkot)
- Hameesh Kumar (Naib Tehsildar, Badni Kalan)
- Sukhwinder Singh (Naib Tehsildar, Nihal Singh Wala)
- Rajinder Singh (Tehsildar, Guru Har Sahai, Ferozepur)
- Jagtar Singh (Naib Tehsildar, Ferozepur)
- Jatinder Pal Singh (Tehsildar, Malout, Sri Muktsar Sahib)
- Parminder Singh (Tehsildar, Bariwala)
- Kanwaldeep Singh Brar (Tehsildar, Gidderbaha) and Amrita Agarwal (Naib Tehsildar, Gidderbaha)
- Balwinder Singh (Naib Tehsildar, Doda)
When Was the Suspension Order Issued?
Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Verma issued the suspension orders late Tuesday night. The action was taken under Rule 8 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules 1970 for being absent from duty.
This move by the government sends a strong message that indiscipline will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against those disrupting administrative services.
