Barnala, February 20, 2024-Nehru Yuva Kendra Barnala organized a youth parliament under sweep and voter awareness campaign at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Arya Mahila College.
District Election Officer Poonamdeep Kaur said that the Election Commission of Punjab is working on Ab Ki Bar 70 par, that is, efforts are being made to cross the voting rate at least 70 percent. He said that principals and teachers of schools and colleges are being encouraged to educate students and their families to vote as much as possible.
Speaking on this occasion, Principal Dr. Neelam Sharma said that the children of History and Politics Department participated in this Parliament. In this Parliament, the Women’s Reservation Bill was introduced, debated and the Bill was passed. In this Parliament, debates were held on the topics of farmers’ movement, MSP, Agniveer, women’s security, higher education, etc. The role of speaker Harpreet Kaur, the role of Prime Minister Komalpreet Kaur, Jashnpreet, Himani Sharma, Ananya, Neha, Sonia etc. students played well. MA Puneet Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Taranpreet Kaur etc. More than 45 children participated in it and more than 150 children watched the entire process.
