Approximately a week earlier, repair work on the hotel revealed cracks in three of its pillars. Nearby buildings reported vibrations during the repairs, which caused alarm in the area. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, police and civil defense teams quickly intervened, sealing off the roads around the building to prevent access.
Thanks to the administration’s prompt actions, no injuries or casualties occurred when the building ultimately gave way. The incident underscores the importance of proactive measures in preventing major accidents in aging infrastructure.
