NIA’s another attack on terrorism, main associate of pro-Khalistan terrorist caught from Delhi airport

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a close associate of pro-Khalistan terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla from Delhi Airport.

According to an official statement, Baljeet Singh alias Baljeet Maur, of Bathinda, Punjab, was arrested by the investigating agency upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport from UAE.

These things came to light in NIA investigation
NIA investigation has revealed that Baljeet Maur was involved in providing logistics support, identification for extortion, recruitment of new cadres and terror funding to India-based associates of Arsh Dalla of the banned organization Khalistan Terrorist Force (KTF).
A non-bailable warrant was issued against him in June 2024.

The statement said that apart from being wanted in a case related to the terrorist activities of KTF, Maur was also wanted in several other cases. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him in June 2024, while a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued this February.

The NIA statement said Maur’s arrest is an important development in India’s fight against terrorism. In a case registered suo motu by the NIA on February 13, he was identified as the key conspirator in the KTF conspiracy to spread terror in Punjab, the investigating agency said.
According to the NIA case, KTF terrorists were engaged in raising terror funds through extortion activities, targeted killings and smuggling of arms and ammunition into India.

During the hearing on the petition related to deepfakes on Thursday, Delhi High Court made an important comment and said that the problem of deepfakes is continuously increasing. However, a bench of Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that this technology cannot be banned because we need AI.
The court also said that we have to exclude the negativity associated with it and use the positive part. Therefore, the court asked the Central Government how this process can be separated. Apart from this, what steps are being taken by you to overcome this problem?
