Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra married Himani Mor from Sonipat on January 16 in Solan. After the wedding, the couple has traveled to the United States and plans to return to India in May. According to the family, the wedding reception will be held after their return.
Took Only One Rupee and a Gift During the Wedding
During the wedding rituals, Neeraj Chopra accepted only one rupee and a gift during the engagement, marriage, and farewell ceremonies. Both families have chosen to hold a dowry-free wedding. Neeraj’s uncle, Bhim Chopra, stated that the marriage of Neeraj and Himani was a result of mutual consent and happiness from both families.
Neeraj Reaches In-Laws’ House on January 17
Himani’s father, Chandram Mor, mentioned that the day after the wedding, on January 17, Neeraj and Himani arrived at their in-laws’ house in the village of Ladsouli. Here, Neeraj had traditional food, including roti with ghee-bura, chutney, and vegetables. Additionally, the in-laws gave Neeraj a gift of 500 rupees.
Training to Continue in the USA
Neeraj and Himani will continue their sports training in the United States. The family has also planned the reception event. A large reception will be held in a major city like Delhi or Chandigarh for distinguished guests, while a local reception will be arranged as well. Additionally, Neeraj and Himani may host a party with their international friends in the USA or another country.
Resort Staff’s Phones Collected, CCTV Taped During Rituals
According to sources, during the wedding, the phones of resort staff and guests were collected. Moreover, CCTV cameras were taped to maintain privacy during the wedding rituals. After the wedding, the staff members were given back their phones with strict instructions not to share any details about the wedding.
