HS Hanspal, the renowned Namdhari leader and Chairman of the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), passed away today at the age of 86. He breathed his last at Max Hospital in Delhi, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of political influence and community leadership.
Throughout his illustrious career, Hanspal served as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and represented Punjab in the Rajya Sabha for two terms. Known for his commitment to public welfare, he earned immense respect within the Namdhari community and across the state.
In a major political shift in 2022, Hanspal joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after several decades with the Indian National Congress. His decision was seen as a strong endorsement of AAP’s vision for Punjab’s progress and growth.
