Murder Case Registered After Suspicious Death of Amritpal Singh in Raikot, Punjab

Sharing is caring!

Punjab, Oct 20
Raikot police have registered a murder case following the discovery of 22-year-old Amritpal Singh’s body near a drain on Sahabajpura Road. Amritpal, a resident of Johlan Road, Raikot, had gone out on a bike ride with a friend, Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggi, and never returned. His body was found the next day with multiple injury marks.

Amritpal’s family had initially refused to perform the last rites, demanding a case be filed against Jaggi, who had taken Amritpal on the ride. Following growing tension, the police registered a case against Jaggi, based on a statement by Amritpal’s father, Sarabjit Singh. Jaggi, originally from Mandi Kalan, Bathinda, was staying at his maternal home in Kalsan village, Raikot.

The post-mortem of the body is set to take place on Sunday. Amritpal’s death comes shortly after another 22-year-old from the area died of a drug overdose, leading to speculation that Amritpal’s death may be linked to drugs. The Raikot police are conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter.
