Moga, March 5:
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Punjab Police has arrested two women involved in smuggling narcotics in the Kotisekha area of Moga district. During a raid, the police recovered 2.5 kg of heroin, two country-made pistols, gold and silver jewelry, and ₹1 lakh in drug money.
The operation was led by the female SHO of Kotisekha police station. The arrested women have been identified as Mumtaz Kaur and Kiran Kaur, who are mother and daughter. A case has been registered against five individuals in connection with this drug racket.
According to sources, the accused had been involved in drug smuggling for a long time and had amassed significant illegal wealth through the trade. The police are currently investigating further to uncover more links in their network.
Moga SSP is expected to hold a press conference soon to provide more details on the case.
