Meth Tablets Worth ₹173.73 Crore Seized at India-Myanmar Border in Mizoram

Mizoram, February 12:

Law enforcement agencies have seized a massive consignment of methamphetamine tablets valued at ₹173.73 crore along the India-Myanmar border in Mizoram’s Champhai district, according to a statement by Assam Rifles on Wednesday.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team comprising Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police carried out the operation at Zokhawthar, a border crossing point, on February 9.

During the operation, authorities identified individuals transporting the illegal consignment. However, upon noticing security personnel, the suspects abandoned the narcotics and fled the scene.

The seized consignment has been taken into police custody for further investigation and legal action, the statement added.
