Punjab, January 25:
In a joint operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Mohali Police have arrested Mahfooz alias Vishal Khan, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Barar gang. Mahfooz was the mastermind behind the firing incident at an IELTS center in Dera Bassi in September 2024 and had been absconding since the attack.
Initial investigations revealed that the accused was planning new criminal activities in the Tricity area. Mahfooz has a prior criminal record and has been working under the instructions of gangster Goldy Barar since 2023.
He had procured a cache of weapons from notorious gangster Joginder alias Joga (HR), who was involved in providing arms and logistical support to those linked with the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case. Joga has already been arrested in connection with that case. The police recovered a pistol and five cartridges from Mahfooz at the time of his arrest.
