Khadoor Sahib (Punjab), January 13:

In a shocking incident in Harike, Khadoor Sahib, an arhtiya (commission agent) named Ram Gopal was shot dead in broad daylight by two assailants on a motorcycle. The shooters attempted to flee but were intercepted by Harike police after a five-kilometer chase. Following an encounter, two shooters were arrested, while a third suspect managed to escape.

The incident occurred around 9:30 AM when Ram Gopal was sitting outside his shop, enjoying the morning sun. Two armed assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, critically injuring him. He was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Upon receiving the news, the police immediately launched a manhunt. The suspects fired eight rounds at the police during their escape, resulting in one of them, Jaspreet Singh, being injured in the leg. The other shooter, Sahibpreet Singh, broke his leg while attempting to flee. Both were hospitalized for treatment. The third accomplice, who was waiting in a car at a designated spot, fled after hearing about the arrests.

Gangster Claims Responsibility

After the murder, gangster Prabh Dasuwal, allegedly based abroad, claimed responsibility for the killing via a social media post. He stated that Ram Gopal was a close associate of terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa, and the murder was an act of revenge for the killing of his brother, Sarpanch Gurdeep.
