Renowned comedian Kapil Sharma, who has won hearts with The Kapil Sharma Show, is now facing backlash. His transition from television to OTT has been well received, with The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix gaining popularity. However, controversy has erupted, putting him in a difficult situation.
The head of the Shiromani Panth Akali Budha Dal, Singh Sahib Jathedar Baba Balbir Singh Akali, has issued a stern warning to Kapil Sharma. He has demanded a public apology from the comedian, alleging that Sharma made inappropriate remarks regarding Baba Diwan Todar Mal.
According to Baba Balbir Singh Akali, Diwan Todar Mal played a significant role in Sikh history by purchasing land at a high price to perform the last rites of the younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji after their martyrdom. He claims that Kapil Sharma misrepresented Todar Mal’s sacrifice on his show, using disrespectful language that has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. He further warned that if Sharma does not issue a public apology, he will face strong opposition from the Sikh Panth and possible legal action.
Baba Balbir Singh Akali emphasized that Kapil Sharma, being a native of Amritsar, should be well aware of Sikh history. Despite this, he allegedly used derogatory terms, which is unacceptable and calls for immediate rectification.
