Ludhiana, February 27:
Despite tight security arrangements by the police on the occasion of Shivratri, a shocking incident took place late Wednesday night in Jagraon.
Two youths created panic by opening fire outside a well-known dhaba on the Ludhiana-Ferozepur Highway. Reports suggest that the accused initially drove past the dhaba in their car but returned shortly after. They got out of the vehicle, brandished weapons in both hands, and started firing in the air. The sound of gunshots sent the dhaba staff and customers into a state of fear. CCTV footage clearly shows both individuals holding two revolvers each and firing in the air.
Upon receiving information, the City Police Station team reached the scene. Investigating officer Sukhwinder Singh stated that CCTV footage from the area has been examined, revealing the car’s registration number. Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident might have been an attempt to create fear or a case of extortion.
Police have intensified their investigation based on the car’s details and claim that the suspects will be arrested soon.
