Chandigarh, December 3:
Chandigarh Pradesh Congress President HS Lucky today criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for not addressing the issues of Chandigarh residents and for failing to make any announcements to resolve these problems during their recent visit. Despite multiple visits from both leaders, the residents of Chandigarh have been left empty-handed.
Due to the mismanagement of BJP governance in Chandigarh over the past 8 years, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is struggling with a financial crisis. Both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have turned a blind eye to this, and as a result, Chandigarh’s development is being impacted.
Lucky demanded that the Prime Minister make some announcements to provide relief to the city’s residents, as there are several urgent issues such as the expansion of the Lal Dora, land pooling plans for villages, granting ownership rights to residents of colony housing units, allowing necessary modifications to about 62,000 Housing Board flats, and converting leasehold properties to freehold in industrial and other areas.
Additionally, long-pending issues such as housing schemes for employees, ending the privatization of the electricity department, and making building bylaws more people-friendly require immediate attention.
