Rohtak, March 3:
In a joint operation, Delhi Police and Haryana’s Sampla Police arrested 30-year-old Sachin, a resident of Bahadurgarh. The accused runs a mobile accessories shop and is currently in police custody for interrogation. This marks the first arrest in the Congress leader Himani murder case. The police have also recovered Himani’s mobile phone and jewelry from the accused.
A Year-Long Acquaintance, Blackmail, and Murder
According to police sources, Himani and Sachin had known each other for about a year. Sachin frequently visited Himani’s house and even stayed there on multiple occasions. Initial investigations reveal that they met through social media, after which Himani invited Sachin to her house. Their relationship turned physical, and Himani allegedly recorded intimate moments on video. Later, she began blackmailing Sachin using these recordings.
Reports suggest that Himani repeatedly demanded money from Sachin. Despite his attempts to convince her otherwise, she refused to stop. Eventually, Sachin decided to murder her.
Strangled with a Charger Wire, Body Stuffed in a Suitcase
Police investigations indicate that Sachin strangled Himani to death using a mobile charger wire. He then placed her body inside a suitcase and transported it via rickshaw to a bus stand. From there, he carried the bag on a bus and left it at Sampla Bus Stand.
On the morning of March 1, passersby noticed a foul-smelling bag at the bus stand. Upon being alerted, the police arrived and opened the bag, only to find a suitcase inside. Upon further inspection, they discovered a woman’s body, later identified as Congress leader Himani.
Accused is Married with Two Children
Sachin is married and has two children. After committing the crime, he went to his mobile shop in Bahadurgarh’s Kanoda village. Investigators suspect that the primary motive behind the murder was blackmail and financial pressure. However, the investigation is still ongoing, and police are exploring other possible motives.
