Himachal Pradesh, February 26:

Starting April 1, 2025, vehicle entry into Himachal Pradesh will become costlier as the state has decided to increase toll barrier charges. The revised rates include a ₹10 hike for private vehicles and a ₹20 increase for commercial vehicles.

As per the updated toll charges for the 2025-26 financial year, private vehicle owners will now have to pay ₹70 instead of ₹60 for 24-hour access. Similarly, heavy goods carriers will be charged ₹570 instead of ₹550, while passenger vehicles with 6 to 12 seats will pay ₹110, and those with more than 12 seats will be charged ₹180.

The excise and taxation department has finalized these new entry fees for 55 toll barriers across the state. Goods carriers weighing 250 quintals or more will now have to pay ₹720 to enter Himachal Pradesh.

No Exemption for Local Goods Carriers

Unlike in previous years, the increased toll fees will also apply to goods carriers registered in Himachal Pradesh, meaning no exemptions for local transporters. The revised rates will be used to determine quarterly and annual pass fees for transport operators.

As per the new tariff:

  • Heavy goods vehicles (120-250 quintals): ₹570
  • Medium goods vehicles (90-120 quintals): ₹320
  • Light goods vehicles (20-90 quintals): ₹170
  • Small goods carriers (below 20 quintals): ₹130
  • Private or public tractors: ₹70

The revised toll charges aim to regulate vehicle entry and enhance revenue collection for infrastructure development in the state.
