Tarn Taran, February 25:
An encounter broke out between the police and criminals in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. The suspects opened fire on the police, prompting retaliatory action. As a result, both assailants sustained bullet injuries in their legs.
According to Tarn Taran SP (Investigation) Ajay Raj Singh, the police signaled a motorcycle to stop, but instead of complying, the riders fired at the officers. In response, the police returned fire, injuring both suspects.
The injured individuals, identified as Prakash Singh and Prabhjeet Singh, were reportedly involved in two recent shooting incidents. They are known associates of gangster Prabh Dasuwal. The police recovered a .32 bore firearm, three spent cartridges, and two live rounds from the accused.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
