Congress leader Mahant Rameshwar Giri left the party

Sharing is caring!

Chandigarh, April 25

Congress leader Mahant Rameshwar Giri has bid goodbye to the party. Giri was unhappy with the neglect of ground level workers and the party’s anti-people policies. According to his supporters, Giri has taken this step due to the inefficient and lazy leadership of the Congress from top to bottom. Rameshwar Giri, a resident of Manimajra, has a lot of influence in the Brahmin community and he is seated as the Mahant on the centuries-old throne of the Mata Santoshi temple located on the road to the famous Shaktipeeth Mata Mansa Devi and he has always been playing a leading role in social work like marriage of needy girls, helping the people of the deprived society, organizing langar-bhandaars on various occasions etc. He has served as the Secretary and other posts of the Congress in Chandigarh and he has a lot of influence in the local social, political and religious fields. He resigned from the party posts as well as the primary membership of the party and expressed deep disappointment over the working of the Congress leadership from national to local leadership.

It is worth mentioning that his daughter-in-law had given a tough fight to the rival candidate in the last municipal elections but could not win due to sabotage by the Congress leaders and these saboteurs are being given importance over him these days, due to which he was upset. On top of that, the local leadership was adopting an arrogant and contemptuous attitude even after being aware of all these developments, due to which he distanced himself from the party to protect his self-respect.

Rameshwar Giri’s contribution to the Congress was that he was the president of the Block Youth Congress, was the vice-president of the District Congress Committee Rural for 10 years, was the coordinator of Sewalal, was the head of the District Congress Committee Manimajra, was also the media in-charge of Chandigarh Congress.
