The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective July 1, 2024. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the increase, which will benefit over 1 crore employees and pensioners and provide financial relief just before the Diwali festival.
