Punjab, February 26:
In the early hours of Wednesday, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel stationed along the international border in Pathankot, Punjab, eliminated a Pakistani intruder, officials confirmed.
The incident occurred near the Border Outpost Tashpatan, where BSF troops detected suspicious movement along the India-Pakistan border. Upon crossing into Indian territory, the individual was repeatedly warned to stop but continued moving forward, prompting the troops to take action.
The intruder was subsequently shot and killed. Authorities are working to establish his identity.
A spokesperson from the BSF’s Jammu Frontier stated that a formal protest will be lodged with the Pakistan Rangers regarding the breach.
The BSF remains vigilant in securing the 553-km-long Punjab stretch of the India-Pakistan international border.
