For the upcoming Haryana Rajya Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Rekha Sharma as their candidate. Rekha Sharma is the former chairperson of the National Commission for Women. She was appointed as the chairperson of the National Commission for Women in 2018 and resigned from the position in August of this year.
Rekha Sharma is a resident of Panchkula. She has a close relationship with Prime Minister Modi. She has been associated with Modi since his tenure as the in-charge of Chandigarh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, when he lived in Panchkula. Before PM Modi’s visit to Panipat on Monday, the party announced Rekha Sharma’s name as the candidate.
