Bathinda (Punjab), January 7:
An elderly couple was discovered brutally murdered and their home looted in Badyala village, near Rampura town in Bathinda district, on Monday night.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Narinder Singh confirmed the incident on Tuesday, revealing that the victims, Gias Singh (66) and Amarjit Kaur (62), were found with severe head injuries.
According to the SP, the couple’s son, who works in Delhi, became concerned when he couldn’t reach his parents after multiple calls. He alerted the locals, who went to the house and discovered the couple’s bodies. They immediately contacted the police.
The police have launched an investigation to determine whether the murders were committed during a robbery or if there is another motive behind the crime.
“Special teams have been assigned to solve this case,” the SP added.
