Punjab, January 28:
The holy cave of Baba Amarnath is set to undergo a transformation with plans to modernize its outer structure. The design for the new structure has been prepared by Ludhiana-based architect Naval Kumar.
Under the new arrangement, devotees will be able to offer prayers to Baba Barfani without any inconvenience. Five special lines are being constructed near the holy cave, allowing over 100 devotees to comfortably offer prayers at a time. The structure will ensure that devotees can stand in the courtyard of the cave and worship with ease.
Discussion Held in SAIBO Meeting
On Sunday, the Shri Amarnath Yatra Bhandara Organization (SAIBO) held a meeting attended by representatives of Bhandara committees from across the country. During the meeting, participants shared their problems and provided suggestions.
Improved Design for Convenient Darshan
Architect Naval Kumar stated that earlier, devotees had to stand in temporary queues for darshan. Now, five permanent lines are being constructed at a short distance from the sacred Shivling inside the cave. Additionally, a special platform is being prepared to keep the cave cool.
Preparations in Full Swing: Rajan Kapoor
Rajan Kapoor, President of the Shri Amarnath Bhandara Organization, confirmed that preparations for the yatra have already started. Over 150 Bhandara organizers participated in the meeting, and the Shrine Board is expected to send invitation letters to all organizers in the coming days. Several demands raised by the Bhandara organizers have been addressed, while others are still under consideration.
Call for a System Similar to Vaishno Devi Yatra
Baldev Arora, head of the Barfani Seva Samiti, proposed simplifying the registration and medical processes for pilgrims. He highlighted that the current system is so complicated that many pilgrims cancel their plans after seeing the procedures.
He suggested shifting the registration and medical process to Baltal or Pahalgam, similar to the token system used for the Vaishno Devi Yatra. Both yatras are managed under the Jammu and Kashmir government, and the chairman for both is the Governor, who can take necessary decisions regarding this matter.
