45,000 Ration Cards Blocked in Himachal Pradesh for Missing e-KYC, Now Possible to Complete e-KYC from Home

Sharing is caring!

Himachal Pradesh, January 21:

Around 45,000 ration cards in Himachal Pradesh have been blocked due to the non-completion of the e-KYC process. Until the e-KYC is completed, affected families will not be able to receive ration supplies from fair price shops. This issue is particularly challenging for families with members living abroad or in other states of India. If any family member’s e-KYC is incomplete, that individual’s share of the ration will be temporarily blocked, although the remaining members will continue to receive their quota.

To address this issue, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs has developed a mobile application that allows people to complete their e-KYC process from home. This service is entirely free of charge. Once the e-KYC is completed, the blocked ration cards will be reactivated, enabling beneficiaries to access subsidized ration supplies as usual.

Complete e-KYC from Home

Shimla District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, Narendra Dhiman, revealed that over one lakh ration cards in Shimla district alone have been blocked due to incomplete e-KYC. He informed that beneficiaries whose e-KYC is pending can now download the “e-KYC PDS HP Face App” from the Google Play Store to complete the process from home, regardless of their location.

Additionally, e-KYC can also be completed through Lokmitra Kendras or by visiting nearby fair price shops equipped with e-PoS machines. Once the e-KYC process is completed, beneficiaries can collect their ration supplies from the fair price shops, including their pending monthly ration quota.
